Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN in the role of an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work with producers from across the country on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then her first job, her CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. Her duties as an anchor on weather and sports was often requested. In the end, she was appointed anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. Her duties were then expanded to greater responsibilities. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. Additionally, she was host of an episode of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted as anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' family was originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born on 22nd November, 1985 and was raised in Mexico City. She is older than her sister. In 1992, her family left Mexico and moved to Miami. In 1992, her parents split soon after. In 1995, she married Fabio Fajardo who was the engineer for naval vessels who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. She resided there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been offered a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student However, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and it offered the degree she wanted. After completing her high school studies, she entered the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU, of which she's a member. They had a very close connection. His enthusiasm for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. In turn, she was determined to achieve his expectations and never fall short of his expectations.
